George William Perritt

George William Perritt passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Lois and Roy Perritt, and his older brother, Donny. George was the devoted husband to Janice Connon and a long-time stepfather to Janice's three boys, Michael McDonald (Leigh), Matthew McDonald (Joanne), and Mark McDonald (Keri). He was a beloved and cherished 'Papa G' to Andrew, Meghan, Patrick, Nolan, Griffin, and Logan, and a big brother to Barry Perritt (Mary). George was also an uncle to many loved nieces and nephews. In his early life, George was a talented mechanic and owned his own garage, and later in life, he mastered woodworking and spent countless hours in his woodshop. Some of his happiest memories were spent with Janice during his summers on Rice Lake, where he found joy in the simple things. George will be deeply missed and forever remembered. The family would like to extend their thanks to the firefighters and ambulance attendants who were so kind in his time of need, as well as the staff and volunteers at Carpenter Hospice who took great care of him in his final hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Society of Canada or Carpenter Hospice in George's memory.
