Elizabeth (nee McSorley) THORPE
Rosemary Elizabeth Thorpe, nee McSorley, passed away on July 29, 2026, at the age of 84. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Thorpe, in 1987, and her parents, Clarence and Margaret McSorley. Rosemary will be deeply missed by her children, Sheila Riddle and her husband Jim, Brian Thorpe and his wife Brenda, Theresa Price and her husband Lennard, and Robert Thorpe and his wife Carly. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Victoria, Mitchell, Adam, Franklin, Margaret, Erin, and Mason, as well as her two great-grandchildren, James and Penelope. Additionally, she leaves behind her two brothers, Edward and his wife Gail, and Robert and his wife Dellarie, and many nieces, nephews, and their families. Rosemary was a dedicated registered nurse who spent many years caring for babies at St. Joe's NICU and later volunteered at Our Lady of Lourdes church and the Good Shepherd. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of St. Joe's Medical Step-Down unit and Four CTU West for their care. Donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME.
