MARGARET BENTHAM

Margaret Bentham passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 68. Born to the late William Bentham and the late Christie Bentham (née Russell), she was a beloved wife, adored mother, exceptional grandmother, cherished sister, and extraordinary friend. She leaves behind her husband, Michel Simard; her children, Geneviève Vachon (Philippe Verreault-Julien), Laurence Vachon (Ameer Ally), Camille Vachon (Noam Bierstone), Mathieu Simard (Geneviève Gaboury), François Simard, and Véronique Simard (Sébastien LaRochelle); her grandchildren, Léopold, Simone, Adrienne, and Zachary; her brothers and sister, Harry, David, John, Ken, and late Claire, as well as many friends. The family is planning a private ceremony, followed by a reception open to all who wish to pay tribute to Margaret. The reception will be held on March 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex in Montreal (1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9). In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Breakfast Club of Canada in Margaret's memory.
