Sono Sugie

Sono Sugie of Markham, Ontario, passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her parents, Ushi Oyakawa and Tokusuke Oyakawa; her siblings, Shunichi Nakao and Keiko; and her brothers-in-law, Tsunemi Endo and Adam Hauth. Sono is survived by her children, Corey and Tamiko; and her siblings, Toki, Tak, and Mieko Hauth, as well as nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Japanese Canadian Culture Centre Heritage Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
