Neil Herbert JOHNSTON

Neil Herbert Johnston passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on June 3, 1939, in Dand, Manitoba, to Herbert and Dorothy Johnston, Neil was the brother of Mary Helen Johnston and the older sibling of little brother Brian Johnston, who predeceased him. Neil's early life was marked by his love of living on the farm and his brief stint working on the railway, which was cut short by hay fever. He then embarked on a successful career with the Royal Bank, which spanned many years and took him to various locations, including London, Waterloo, and Cambridge, Ontario. In 1963, Neil married Noreen Johnston née Logan, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage, raising three children and building a family that would become the center of his life. Neil's dedication to his family was unwavering, and he was a generous, kind, and compassionate person who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He is survived by sons Craig and Rick, grandchildren Elizabeth, Anne, Lindsay, Clare, Jessica, Sam, Duncan, and Gavin, and great-grandchildren Thomas, Jack, and two others. Neil was also loved by his family pets, Ginger, Max, Stella, Hank, and Maddy. A private family service will take place on December 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
