James Joseph Sweeney

James Joseph Sweeney of Markham, Ontario, passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on February 17, 1934, he is remembered by his loved ones. James Joseph was predeceased by his parents, James and Madeleine Sweeney; his sister, Marlene LaPointe; his spouse, Shirley Kelly; and his son, Patrick Sweeney. He is survived by his child, Kerry Szoldatits; his grandchildren, Ryan Szoldatits, Patrick Szoldatits, Jason Sweeney, and Dylan Sweeney; and his great-grandchild, Sydney Szoldatits. A visitation will be held at the Paul O'Connor Funeral Home on July 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Parish on July 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
