George (Geordie) Millard
George Millard passed away on December 31, 2024, in his 70th year. Born on December 13, 1955, he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and energy. Devoted to his family, he spent his life learning, teaching, and bringing joy to others. He met his wife, Janet, when she joined the staff at Milliken Mills High School in Markham, where he taught drama and English for 30 years. Together, they had four children, Ian, Maggie, Ruthie, and Graeme, who inherited his sense of humour. George was also a talented singer and played lead in The Blackboard Blues Band for nearly 20 years. He cherished time at the family cottage on Six Mile Lake, where he taught his children and others to waterski, swim, and steer a boat. After retiring, he continued to learn and take courses in electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and small engine repair to maintain the family log cabin. George was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2023 and made peace with his condition, continuing to live life fully until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and their four children, Ian, Maggie, Ruthie, and Graeme. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Edith Millard.
