Joel Charles THAYER

The family of Joel Charles Thayer announces his passing on February 26, 2026, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, after a brief illness. Born on February 6, 1952, he was the son of the late Cy and Doris Thayer. Joel dedicated his career to Thayer Lumber, where his strong work ethic and industry knowledge contributed to the company's success. He was known for his reliability and willingness to assist customers and colleagues alike. Joel is survived by his siblings: Michael (Vancouver), Penny (Vance) Logan (Dartmouth), Tim (Susan), and Debbie (Bud Parker) (Toronto), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family expresses gratitude to Dr. Mclean for his support. In accordance with Joel's wishes, there will be no formal services, and interment will occur at Pinegrove Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
