Wanda Monica (née Kucia) THORNTON
Wanda Monica Thornton (née Kucia) passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 68. She was the loving wife and friend to Stephen Thornton. Wanda was the beloved sister of Linda (Neil) McLaughlin and sister-in-law of Valerie (Rick) McCormeck. She was the dear aunt of Michelle and Ryan McLaughlin. Wanda was the treasured daughter of John and Helen Kucia (predeceased). She is survived by her mother-in-law, Verena Thornton, and father-in-law, Alan Thornton. The family would like to extend special thanks to Doctor Elizabeth Finger of Parkwood Hospital London and Doctor Aditya Murgai of LHSC for their care. Thanks are also given to the Bluewater Health doctors and nursing staff, Bayshore PSWs, and St. Joseph's Hospice for their support during Wanda's final days. Wanda enjoyed gardening and boating, and appreciated the help of local greenhouses and the staff at Bridgeview Marina. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home-London Line Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date. Donations may be made to Bluewater Health Foundation, the Alzheimer's Society, or the charity of your choice.
