Rev Jan Hubert Betkowski (John)

Rev. Father Jan Hubert Betkowski, also known as Father John, died suddenly at his home in Dresden, Ontario, on Friday, February 13, 2026, in his 89th year. He was born in Belweder, Poland in 1937. Father John was cherished brother of Jenny Kosar and lifelong brother-in-law and friend Bogdan Szymkiewicz. He was a loving uncle, affectionately known as 'Wujek', of Anne-Marie Longshaw, Stasia Kosar, Yolanda Conte, Henry Bentkowski, Peter Siniowski, Bozenka Soares, Paul Szymkiewicz, Wandzia Bentkowski, Rick, and Ann Vanderkuyl, and beloved great uncle and great great uncle of many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many friends in the community of Dresden. Father John was predeceased by his brother Joseph Bentkowski, and his sisters Krystyna Siniowski, Stasia Szymkiewicz, and Teresa Teper.
