Age 69
London, Ontario

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Van der Spank, who left us peacefully in his sleep at home on August 24, 2026, just two weeks shy of his 70th birthday. Paul was a devoted husband to Debbie (nee Johnson) and a loving father to Dana (Jason), Michele (Sam), and Mark (Stevie). He was a cherished Papa to his grandchildren: Raelyn, Bryson, McKinley, Presley, Lennox, Louella, Adrianne, and Stanley. Paul is survived by his siblings Rob, Liz Murray (Rob), Karen Findlater (Dave), Fran Rowse, Brien (Linda), Bruce, Chris (Jessica), and Steve (Kim), as well as his mother-in-law Jean Johnson, brother-in-law Bob Johnson, sister-in-law Jane Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gil and Ria Van der Spank, father-in-law Ray Johnson, and sister-in-law Judy Johnson. Paul, the eldest of nine, cherished his early years in Belmont, where he developed a passion for hockey, eventually playing Junior B with the St. Mary's Lincolns, leading them to a Sutherland Cup championship in 1976. He and Debbie shared over 50 years of love and built a life filled with joy on their farm, creating countless memories together.
