Nancy POWERS

Nancy Powers, a lifelong resident of St. Thomas, died at her home on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born in St. Thomas on September 14, 1939, to the late Nelson and Wilma (Townson) Merritt. Nancy was the wife of Louis Powers and the mother of the late Tiare Tierney-Powers and Mike. She was also survived by her children Craig, Anita, and Mike, as well as her siblings Pat Bridge, Don, Cathy Meeuse, Sue, and Steve Merritt, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased were her sisters Sheila Cohoe and Gus Merritt. A private family service was held, followed by interment at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were managed by Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, and donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
