Mel Johnston

Mel Johnston of London, Ontario, passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on March 5, 1939, Mel was a cherished member of his family and community. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elma, and their children: Mel (Chouy), Elizabeth, Joseph (Sherry), Barb (Dan), and Elaine (Gerald). Mel was also a proud grandfather to Alex, Kayla (Aiden), Jade (Michelle), Andy (Erica), Robin (Karina), Cedar, Mwenda, Megan, Alicia, and Matthew, and a great-grandfather to Marigold and Mei. He is predeceased by his parents, Mel and Mabel (Hardy), and his brother, Howard (Helen). Visitation will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Dennings Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM and burial at Strathroy Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
