Lucio Francisco ALVAREZ DUARTE

Lucio Francisco Alvarez Duarte passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 86. Born on December 15, 1939, in Santa Ana, El Salvador, he was known as Ingeniero Lucio Francisco Álvarez Duarte in his homeland. A dedicated agronomic engineer, he later settled in London, Ontario. Lucio was admired for his strong character, love of learning, and commitment to his family. He enjoyed fixing and building things, sharing stories, and spending time with loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Lilian Alvarez; children Regina (Milton), Claudia (Andrew), Lilian, and Juan; grandchildren Gabriela (Wes), Daniel (Monica), Joshua, Anjelica, Talia, Graesen, and Charlotte; and great-grandchildren Eliana and Maisie. A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held on September 11, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to London Health Science Centre – Verspeetan Family Cancer Centre.
