Lorraine Holmes

Lorraine Holmes passed away at her residence on June 8, 2026, at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Herb Smith and the late Eric Holmes. Lorraine was the loved mother of Alison Smith Hartley and her husband Phil, and the late Stuart Smith and his wife Muriel, and step-mother of Ann Holmes, Mark Holmes, and Jen Mills. She was a cherished grandmother of Krista Saltzberry and her husband Dwayne, Adrian Hartley and his wife Ally, Kim Smith and her wife Ashley, Michael Smith and his wife Emma, Becky Smith and her husband Andrew, Alice Holmes, and a great grandmother of Graham Hartley, Logan Hartley, Kylie Saltzberry, Corey Smith, Blake Smith, Colton Saltzberry, and Elsie Hutton. Lorraine was the dear sister of the late Trevor Thornton and Malcolm Thornton. She is lovingly remembered by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ontario and the UK. Born in Heckmondwike, England on August 10, 1930, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Laura Barlow Thornton and Walter Thornton. A private family service will be held. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners - Elgin Office. Williams Funeral Home, located at 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, is entrusted with the arrangements.
