Lina Guglielmi
Lina Guglielmi, nee Bove, passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on August 14, 2026, at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lina was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Guglielmi, with whom she shared almost 69 years of marriage. She was a wonderful mother and friend to her daughter Maria Scarpelli and the late Attilio Guglielmi. Lina was a loving and caring grandmother to Austin Scarpelli and Anthony Scarpelli, and a proud great-grandmother to Dominic, Brooklyn, Arya, and Luca. She was predeceased by her parents, Pelino and Laura Bove, and her husband Antonio. Lina is also predeceased by her son Attilio and siblings-in-law Lucia Hlywa, Michelina Terracina, Severino Tancredi, and Enrico Notarandrea. She is survived by her siblings Rosina, Quintino, and Louisa, as well as her brother-in-law Pasquale Guglielmi and sister-in-law Emilia Longo. Lina's family was one of the first to immigrate to Canada in 1951, and she played an important role in helping new immigrants adapt to their new country. She started working at McCormick's, where she eventually became the president of the union. Lina was devoted to the Madonna Della Libera and was one of the original organizers of the festival, a tradition from her homeland of Pratola Peligna, Italy. She was a pillar of her church community and a faithful member of the rosary and prayer group. Lina was also a proud member of the CWL at St. Martin's Church for over 55 years and enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends.
