John Wesley Hodgson

John Wesley 'Wes' Hodgson passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Karen Hodgson and the late Patricia Hodgson. Wes was a loving father to the late Aaron Hodgson, and a cherished stepfather to Melissa Hanley, Ashley Hanley, and Meagan Hanley. He was a proud grandfather and will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren. Wes dedicated many years of his working life to Ford Motor Company in Talbotville before enjoying a well-earned retirement. He will be dearly missed by his siblings: Gail Cooper of Englehart; Gary and Nancy Hodgson of London; Mary Ellen and Skip Schippers of Englehart; Roy and Diana Hodgson of London; the late Cliff Hodgson and Rhonda Hodgson of London; Sylvia and Rick Fox of Port Hope; Francis Berney of Port Hope; and Frank and Rhonda Young of New Brunswick. Wes also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for the compassionate care and dignity shown to Wes during his final days. In keeping with Wes's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Wes's life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honour Wes's memory may make a donation to the Lung Association or St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
