John Stanley LAWRENCE

John Stanley Lawrence passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 93, at University Hospital in London. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty. John was a loving father to Peter, who predeceased him, and Michael, and his wife Jen. He was a special grandfather to Katie and Jaden, and a cherished great-grandfather to Blair and Levi. John was the only son of Jack and Ruby Lawrence of Woodstock, Ontario. He enjoyed golfing and curling in his spare time. John had a long career with Canadian Westinghouse, which took him and Betty to many places, including France, Scotland, California, and Hamilton, before settling in London. He taught for 25 years in Hamilton and London, finishing his career at H.B. Beal Secondary School. John was a long-time member of Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, and volunteered with the Kiwanis club. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place at a later date at Woodstock Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations in John's memory can be made to Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
