John Robert Alexander Smallwood

John Robert Alexander Smallwood passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in Toronto, Ontario on February 26, 1952, he spent his childhood years in various locations. John met his wife, Jane Smallwood, in 1975 while attending the University of Guelph, and they married in 1978. They relocated to London, Ontario, where John worked as a Medical Technologist. John was a devoted husband to Jane, a loving father to Dr. Jennifer Lee Smallwood and Jessica Lise Smallwood, and a beloved grandfather to Giselle Josephine Phillips, Owen Alexander Christian, and Ava Jane Christian. He was the 4th of 5 children born to Nancy Smallwood (née Oldershaw) and Wallace Alexander Smallwood. John is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Dr. Jennifer Lee Smallwood and Jessica Lise Smallwood; grandchildren, Giselle Josephine Phillips, Owen Alexander Christian, and Ava Jane Christian; and siblings, Gene Smallwood, Norma May Smallwood, and Richard 'Ricky' Smallwood. Predeceased by his siblings, Lynne Smallwood (2021), Nancy Smallwood (née Oldershaw, 2004), and Wallace Alexander Smallwood (1998), as well as his nephew, Chris Mitchell (2024).
