David COX
David John Cox passed away peacefully at University Hospital in London, Ontario on July 29, 2026, at the age of 88. He is survived by his partner of 45 years, Shirley McCallan, his son Jeff and his wife Lisa, his stepson Jamie and his wife Melanie, his grandchildren D-J, Jack, Ashley, and Meighan, and his great-grandchildren Aubree and Tyson. David is also survived by his brothers Geoffrey and Richard, and his wife Lorraine, as well as the McLennan family and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Margery and Jack Cox, and his daughter-in-law Natalie Cox. Born in England, David immigrated to Canada with his family in 1954 and enjoyed a successful career in sales until his retirement in 2005. He was a dedicated volunteer, giving his time to several organizations including the Westmount Optimist Club, the London Humane Society, and the Parkinson Society. David and Shirley shared a love of travel and spent twelve winters in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where they made lasting memories and friendships. They also opened their home to dozens of foster cats through Animalert. A celebration of David's life will be held at Harris Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16 from 2-4 p.m., with remembrances at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army London Village or Animalert.
