Daniel Linas Siurna

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Linas Siurna, P.Eng., who peacefully departed on June 5, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospice in London, Ontario, at the age of 68. Known as Dan to family and Linas to friends, he led a life marked by intelligence, curiosity, and compassion. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, he excelled in underwater acoustics and sonar technology. Daniel served as Director of Acoustics at Sparton Electronics, where he developed advanced sonar systems for navies worldwide. He later worked as a Principal Engineer with General Dynamics Canada and contributed over 22 years to Ultra Electronics Maritime Systems. Beyond his professional achievements, Daniel had a profound love for animals, a trait he inherited from his mother, Lorna. He cherished his pets, especially his beloved cat, Amelia, whose loss was deeply felt.
