Bruno MRKIĆ-PESTIĆ

Bruno Mrkić‑Pestić, born November 21, 1937, in Bokanjac, Croatia, died peacefully on August 16, 2026, at his home in London, Ontario, after a period of illness. He immigrated to Canada after refugee status in Italy and served for three decades as a librarian at the D.B. Weldon Library, University of Western Ontario. He is survived by his daughters Illyria and Natasha Pestich, son‑in‑law Dennis Lo, and grandson Idris Lo. He was predeceased by his wife Marija Mrkić‑Pestić and his son Illyrio Mrkić‑Pestić. Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street, Richmond. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
