Barbara Irene Milligan

Barbara Irene Milligan of St. Thomas tragically passed away as a result of a car accident on August 29, 2026, at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband, William Milligan, her parents, Edward and Irene Kairns, her sister Ann Thompson, her brother Teddy Kairns, and her nephews John Lyons and Adam Thompson. Barbara is survived by her sister Rose Kairns, brother-in-law Jack Thompson, nephews Ted Thompson (Maryan), John Thompson (Janet), nieces Catherine Mentlik (David), Barbara Jean Madill (Keith), Mary Ann Lyons, as well as several cousins and many friends. Born in St. Thomas on October 6, 1939, she graduated from London Teachers College and Waterloo University, dedicating many years to teaching for the Wellington County Separate School Board. A member of Holy Angels' Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Helens Catholic Church on September 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place, with interment of ashes in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation.
