Maria EHRMANN

Maria Ehrmann passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 99. She was born on February 5, 1927, in Heidendorf, Transylvania, to Michael and Sofia Schmidt. After fleeing her homeland in 1944, she settled in Germany and later immigrated to Listowel, Ontario, in 1951, where she met her husband Michael, who predeceased her in 1980. Maria is survived by her daughter Rosemarie, son‑in‑law Michael Shilling, grandchildren David and Emma Shilling and Jonathan and Lisa Shilling, great‑grandchildren Thomas, Julia, Jackson and Everly, sister Kathe Kaufman, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada, Germany, France and New Zealand. She was predeceased by siblings Johann Schmidt, Sofia Schneider, Miki Schmidt, Anni Deeg, brother‑in‑law Howard Kaufman, nieces Ingrid Rutherford and Gerda VonMaur, and nephew Hans Schneider. Maria enjoyed music, bridge, knitting, line dancing and baking, and cherished family trips to the cottage on Lake Nipissing. Funeral arrangements are with Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Ltd.
