Everdina BENDER

Everdina (Exel) Bender of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 2, 2026, in her 87th year. She was the wife of Ken Bender, mother of Richard and Colleen Bender, Daryl Bender, and the late Charlene Hayden, mother-in-law of Glen Hayden, grandmother of Scott Hayden, Ginette Armstrong, Brian and Natalie Hayden, Justin and Victoria Hayden, Robert and Abra Hayden, Wayne Hayden and Lorissa Stortz, Christine and Ryan Schuler, John Verhulp and Cristel, Matt and Kara Verhulp, and Heather Verhulp, and great-grandmother of Claire, Isabelle, Carter, Katy, Graham, Eric, Heidi, Anya, Callie, Delilah, Harry, Charlie, and Romi. She was also the sister of Eric Exel, Gerda and Randy Roppel, Charles Exel, and Frances Exel and Gary Bergstra, and sister-in-law of Margaret Exel and Walter Bender. Everdina was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Gerrigje (Kleinlugtenbelt) Exel, sisters Anne Exel and Ada Haasnoot, brother Henry Exel, sisters-in-law Nikki Exel and Audrey Bender, and brothers-in-law Roger St. Denis, Ross Bender, and Wildred Bender and his wife, Verna. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Listowel Pentecostal Church on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with a reception to follow. The service will be live-streamed, and the link will be available on the funeral home website. Spring interment in Zion United Church Cemetery, Wallace Township. Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital or to the Listowel Agricultural Society would be appreciated.
