MARY JOYCE BROOKS

Mary Joyce Brooks (née Jenner) passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 96. She is survived by her five daughters, Nancy (Jim Peterson), Sue (Jamie McNair), Chris (Peter McAuley), Pat (John Fielding), and Judy (Tim Low), as well as 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mary Joyce will also be sadly missed by her siblings, Inez and Jim, and her childhood sweetheart, Bob Brooks, who predeceased her in 2007. A graduate of the University of Toronto Occupational Therapy program, Mary Joyce used her creative and artistic skills throughout her life. She enjoyed daily activities such as cryptoquips, crosswords, sudoku, and cribbage, and was an avid outdoorsperson who loved cross-country skiing, dog walking, swimming, curling, gardening, and golfing. Mary Joyce is remembered for her stylish fashion sense, her talent as a guitarist, and her collection of whimsical Santas. The family will cherish memories of their time together at the cottage in Pointe au Baril. Mary Joyce's legacy is one of warmth, inclusion, and connection, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
