Carmine Mattucci
Carmine Mattucci, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 5, 1942, in Silvi Marina, Teramo, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni Mattucci and Vittoria Ferretti. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Antonietta, with whom he shared 57 years of love, as well as his cherished children, Rina (Elio), Vittoria (Ed), and David; grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Alexis, and Tyler; sister, Maria (Alfredo); and brother, Tonino (Lucy), all of whom loved him dearly. He is also survived by his cousins in Italy and Canada. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Carmine dedicated his life to his family, embodying steadfast guidance, quiet strength, and unconditional love. He served as a Grenadier in Rome, Italy, in his early 20s. Professionally, Carmine worked in a glass-bottle factory in Germany, then moved to Canada in 1967, where he began his career as a plasterer and later as a shipyard painter at Port Weller Dry Docks, and opened Cousins' Italian Restaurant with Antonietta. He enjoyed winemaking, gardening, curing meats, and making tomato passata, and found joy in playing Italian card games, bocce ball, attending dinner dances, and travelling to various countries.
