Michael "Mike" VANDERVEEN (Mike)

Michael 'Mike' VANDERVEEN passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 60. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Vanderveen, on March 4, 1989. Mike is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sita Vanderveen; sister, Annette Dandyk (Wolf); brother, George Vanderveen (Brenda); niece and nephew, Mallory and Robert; sister, Mary Mehnert (Ralph); niece and nephew, Andrea and Kristopher; great-niece and nephew, Avery and Christian; and his brother, John Vanderveen (Lee). Mike was the youngest of five children and spent his early years in Waterloo, Ontario. He held several jobs in Banff and later with Parks Canada in Lake Louise. Mike loved the mountains and was known for his great sense of humor. He loved to camp and ride his Indian motorcycle. Mike's most recent adventure was a solo road trip in his truck to Tuktoyaktuk, on the Arctic Ocean. Mike was an animal lover and will be missed by his cat, Boo Boo. The family would like to thank the many people that showed such care and kindness during his cancer journey. Cremation has taken place, and Mike's wishes were simply to be returned to a special place in the mountains in Lake Louise.
