William "Bill" Leslie Hayden

William 'Bill' Leslie Hayden passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the age of 94, following a difficult month-long health journey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Vi Hayden, and daughters Lynne Kattenhorn and Cheryl Hayden. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Bonnie Hayden-Rowarth, and grandson Jeff Clemens. Bill was a devoted grandfather to Matthew Proctor, Emily Kraemer, Natalie Wyatt, Elizabeth McMahon, Meghan Kraemer, Kathryn Williston, and Caroline Williston, and a proud great-grandfather of eight. Born in Kitchener on August 26, 1931, Bill worked hard from a young age and went on to have a distinguished career with the Kitchener Fire Department, rising to the position of Fire Chief before his retirement in 1990. He was also a dedicated member of his community, serving as Chairman of the Board for St. Andrews Presbyterian Church's Day Care and Nursery School, and participating in various local clubs and organizations.
