Vivian "Sam" BECKER

Vivian "Sam" Becker, born in 1943, passed away peacefully at WRHN – Queens Hospital in Kitchener on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard "Gerry" Becker, who died in 2002, and a devoted mother to Kevin Becker. Her grandchildren, Evan and Grace Becker, survive her, as do many friends and neighbours who knew her through her popular "Sam's Bar" in Dalegrove. She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Lorne Pryde, and was known for her affection for her dogs Sonny, Toby, Samson, Hershey, and Elsie. Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the same funeral home on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau. In lieu of flowers, the family requests condolences or donations to Elder Dog Canada, which can be arranged through the funeral home.
