Viorel BALAN

Viorel Balan of Listowel, and formerly of Moorefield, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 9, 2026, in his 84th year, at the age of 83. He was the husband of the late Elena (Laoj) Balan, who passed away on September 7, 2023. Viorel was the father of Mitch Balan (Sylvie) and Victor Balan. He was a loved grandfather of Danielle, Natalie, and Samuel, and great-grandfather of Jude and Maeve. Viorel is also survived by his brother Jonel Balan (Mindra) of Kitchener and Family Laoj of Ritisor, and was a loving uncle of Joseph and Valentina. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, 2150 Bleams Rd., Kitchener, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
