Thelma BEAUBIEN (nee Blank)
Thelma BEAUBIEN (nee Blank) passed away with family by her side at Hospice Waterloo, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 72. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron of 51 years; her son, Ken (Amanda); her daughter, Sandra (Mike); and her cherished grandchildren, Averie and Jadyn. Thelma is also survived by many members of Ron's family: Marcel (Muriel), Les (Gail), Art, Gerard (Teri), Raymond (Kitty), Charmaine (Bob), Valerie (Giampaolo), Yvonne (Keith), Anita (Stan), Marjorie (Don), Marie, and Rachelle (Dave). She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Blank; her mother, Doreen Taylor; and her brother-in-law, Paul (Gayle). Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Thelma had a deep love for both family and nature. Thelma was an accomplished public speaker and citizen scientist who inspired many people through her butterfly conservation work, both locally and throughout Ontario. Her life list of 72 butterfly species observed across Ontario contributed valuable information for scientific research and conservation efforts. The family would like to thank Dr. Molckovsky, Dr. Ikogho, Dr. MacMillan, Dr. Kuk, Dr. Yew, and the WRHN Cancer Centre for their care and support. They also extend their gratitude to the Ontario Health at Home staff and the Waterloo Hospice team for their compassion and assistance. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to join us on Thursday, June 25th, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Westmount Golf and Country Club, 50 Inverness Drive, Kitchener, as we celebrate Thelma's life. Casual attire is encouraged.
