Ronald James STRAUSS
Ronald James Strauss passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Marylin Strauss (nee Palubeski) for 62 years. He is also survived by his children, Annette Collins (Michael), Nancy Strauss (Joey McNeil), Thomas Strauss (Monica Chan-Strauss), and his late daughter, Debra Strauss (May 16, 1966). His grandchildren, Grace Collins, Luke Collins, Madeleine Strauss, and Alicia Strauss, also remember him fondly. In addition to his family, he is survived by his siblings, Marjory Hohn, Doug Strauss, Bernie (Diane) Strauss, and Dolly (Bill) Taylor. Predeceased by his parents, Leander (1985) and Kathleen (2004) Strauss, sister Jeannie Rettinger (2024), brothers-in-law Jim Rettinger (2017), and Josef Hohn (1985). His family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 80 University Ave W, Waterloo. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be held, following the luncheon, at Parkview Cemetery.
