Lucinda Neuru
Lucinda Neuru passed away at her home in Kitchener on July 8, 2026, at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Curchin, and their son, Christopher, as well as her grandchildren, Quinton, Darius, and Kynan. Lucinda is also survived by her siblings, Bruce Neuru and Nancy McCollum, and her siblings-in-law, Peter and Steve Curchin. She was predeceased by her parents, Elwin and Alta Mae, and her siblings, Jonathan, Noel, and Jennifer. Lucinda will be missed by her nieces and nephews, including Alison, Melissa, Stacey, Jessica, Bradley, Michael, and Matthew. A professor emerita of Classical Studies at the University of Waterloo, Lucinda taught from 1985 to 2005 and was an internationally recognized specialist in Roman pottery. She moved to Canada from California in 1973 and earned her PhD at McMaster University. A visitation will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home on July 13, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WRHN Foundation - Cancer Centre, either at the funeral home or online. A private memorial celebration will be held for family members at a later date in Leamington.
