Lorna Shantz peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at A. R. Goudie L.T.C., Kitchener, in her 98th year, at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Shantz, who died in 2003. Lorna was the dear mother of Dale Shantz and his wife Elaine, Steven Shantz and his wife Barbara, and Debra Milan and her husband Phil. She was a loving grandmother of Andrea Brissette and her husband Christopher, Sarah Henhoeffer and her husband Kevin, Aaron Shantz and his wife Shelley, Jasmine Chandra and her husband Terence, Brandon Ropp, Rachel Miller, Paige Miller and her husband Alejandro Caicedo, and Erik Miller and his wife Sarah. Lorna was also a great-grandmother of Jacob Shantz Brissette and his wife Erin, McKenzie Shantz Brissette, Madaline Henhoeffer, Sydney Henhoeffer, Riley Miller, Samuel Chandra, Naomi Chandra, Griffen Shantz, and Clem Shantz; and a great great-grandmother of Jack Shantz Bordman and Leo Shantz Bordman. She is survived by her sister Vera Weber and her husband Willis, and her sister-in-law Christine Shantz. Lorna was predeceased by her parents Elam and Elmina Martin, her daughter Patricia Miller and her husband Brian, her grandson Jordan Ropp, and her siblings Vernon Martin and his wife Eileen, Mabel Sauder and her husband Louis, Willis Martin and his wife Eva, and Curtis Martin and his wife Ruth. A private family interment will be held in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira, at 2 p.m., followed by refreshments.
