Joy Ellaine Simonek

Joy Ellaine Simonek of Kitchener, Ontario, passed away on August 22, 2026. She was predeceased by her son James Simonek, her granddaughter Josie, her parents Walter Koebel and Helen Koebel, and her sister Sharon Koebel. Survivors include her close friend Wolfgang "Jim" Simonek; her children Sonja, John, Kimberley, Katherine and Brent; her grandchildren Amy, Andrew, Shawn, Christina, Alyssa, Tristan, Jessika, Jolyne, Alec and Mikayla; her sisters Audrey, Diane (married to Paul) and Gloria (married to Tom); and her brother‑in‑law Wayne Koebel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the KW Humane Society or the Alzheimer Society as expressions of sympathy.
