Jace David Vanderveen

Jace David Vanderveen passed away on May 27, 2026, at the age of 34, while on vacation in Tarumizu, Kagoshima, Japan. He was the beloved son of Kim Vanderveen and David Raham, cherished brother of Tyler Szozda and his wife Acasia Preston, and Paris Vanderveen and her husband Matt Steckly. Jace was also the nephew of Lisa Vanderveen and her husband Will Hasselman, and Steven Vanderveen and his wife Laura Crane. He was the dear grandson of Melvin and Hazel Vanderveen, and the late William and Norma Raham. Jace is survived by many cousins, extended family, friends, and colleagues. A private service has been held, and cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jace's life will be announced at a later date, approximately at the end of September. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
