Ina Mae SOMERS

Ina Mae Somers passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the age of 92, at Lanark Heights in Kitchener. Born on September 8, 1933, in Dublin, Ontario, to Rueben and Clara Aikens, Ina was predeceased by her first husband Neil Nairn in 1968, and her second husband Ken Somers in 2020. She is survived by her children Scott and Lynn Nairn, Jeff and Kim Nairn, as well as Ken's children Rick Somers, Doug Somers, and Rexanne Somers. Ina is also survived by her grandchildren Anthony Nairn, Jess Hall, Courtney Tache, Curtis Ferron, Amy May, Adam Merkley, Andrew Nairn, Chaz Somers, Jesse Somers, Hailey Somers, and Kelsey Somers. She was predeceased by her brother Lorne Aikens, sisters Ruby Theil and Jean Durst. Ina is survived by her sisters-in-law Mildred McQuillin and Marion Somers. The family would like to thank the workers at Lanark Heights for their care of Ina over the past eight years. Cremation has taken place and a small family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
