Delores (née Schruder) Gillissie

Delores (née Schruder) Gillissie passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of Pastor William (Bill) Gillissie. Delores was the cherished mother of Daniel (Donna), Kevin (Connie Eder), Susan Johnson (Craig), Shelley Duncan (Barry), and Lisa Kuehn (Ben). She was the much loved grandmother of Danielle Duncan, James Duncan (Ashley), Rachael Lahartinger (Manuel), Tara Johnson, and Angus Johnson; and great-grandmother to Nevaeh and Colton Duncan, and Eden Lahartinger. Delores was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Mathilda Schruder; her brothers Stanley Marquardt (late Norma), Leslie Marquardt (late Gerda), Donald Schroeder (late Eleanor), Sidney Schroeder, and Clarence Schroeder (late LeeAnn); and her sisters Dorothy Haskin (late Lorne), Teresa Sell (late Ellard), and Beverly Schruder. She will be dearly missed by her brothers Harvey Schruder (Marilyn), Wayne Schruder (Sharon), and Vincent Schruder, her sister Joyce Allan (late Jim), sister-in-law Carole Colbert (late Jack) as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Delores' family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener.
