Deanna Ruth Gerber of Kitchener, Ontario, died on August 21, 2026, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband Herb Gerber, her sister Helen, and her brother‑in‑law Murray Hoerle. Survivors include her children Debbie Gerber (married to Jon Platt), Kevin Gerber (married to Karleen), Cheryl Etmanski (married to Bruce) and Valerie Fitzgerald (married to Brian Freiburger); grandchildren Ryan Potter (married to Jacquie), Jessica Cerrone (married to Carmine), Sara Potter (married to Tameika), Korey Gerber, Kassandra Gerber (married to Cody Schmidt), Sam Fitzgerald (married to Madison McCarthy) and Max Fitzgerald; great‑grandchildren Dominic, Zoe, Luca and Nico; her sister Brenda Meyer (married to Rox Corriveau); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd., 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, ON N2B 2A5. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
