Arend Dirk Fernhout

Arend Dirk Fernhout passed away peacefully at WRHN on Queen's Blvd in Kitchener on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Bep, to whom he was married for 57 years. Arend is survived by his loving children, Hendricus Remi Fernhout and his wife Katie, Martha Heidi Fernhout, and Timothy Paul Fernhout and his wife Marshella. He was a cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren. Arend is also survived by his siblings, Cobie Vander Veen, Rikie Klene, and Koos. He was predeceased by his parents, Hendricus and Akke, sister Anna, and brother Jan. Arend was a faithful member of Kitchener Baptist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Kitchener Baptist Church on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery and a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kitchener Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
