Anita Beatrice Hecktus

The family announces the passing of Anita Beatrice Hecktus of Kitchener, Ontario, on October 20, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on August 4, 1933, Anita was a beloved member of her family and community. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, her son Brian, her parents Wendelina and Christian Kempel, and her siblings Francis, Joe (Betty), Bill, Claude, Gordy, Tom (Eileen), Bob (Marg), Ron (Brenda), Betty Kennedy (Neil), Joyce Kempel, and Margaret Kempel. Anita is survived by her children Wayne, Michael (Vicki), and Kim (Trevor); her grandchildren Jessica (Mike), Courtney (Dave), Tyler (Shannon), and Jordan (Elizabeth); and her great-grandchildren Kaydence, Daxton, Karri, Kody, Ava, and Mya. She is also survived by her brothers Jim (Christine), Ray (Selma), and John (Brenda), as well as her sister-in-law Audrey and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd., located at 507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WRHN Foundation, either at the funeral home or online through the charity's website.
