Philip Quinion Day, born in Oxford, England on February 8, 1944, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, shortly after the loss of his beloved partner, Robina (Bobbi) Shaw, with whom he shared six joyful years. He was previously married to Nancy Nash Day (née Foster), with whom he enjoyed over 20 years of companionship. Phil was the father of Jonathan (Alyson), Clinton (Kruti), and Andrew (Analía), and a proud grandfather to Gracie and James. He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce and Susan, and his lifelong best friend, Burtram. A former Electronics Officer with the Royal Air Force, Phil later worked with the Ontario Ministry of Health, where he played a key role in the implementation of Ontario's photo health card system. Phil was cremated on August 11, 2026. A memorial gathering will take place on August 22 at the Malting Tower at the Tett Centre in Kingston from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
