Mr. Ronald Greenspan J.D., Q.C. (Ronny)
Ronald Greenspan, also known as Ronny, passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 90, in Kingston, Ontario. Born in 1936, Ronny was raised in Toronto, where he graduated from Bathurst Collegiate, the University of Toronto, and later earned a law degree from Osgoode Hall. He began his law career in St. Catharines in 1959 and was awarded the title of Queen's Council in 1981. Ronny is survived by his wife, Janet, whom he was married to for nearly 68 years, as well as their children, Lisa, Michael, Brian, and Paula, and his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Ruchal and Duvid Greenspan, and his siblings, Moishe, Faygie, and Harriet. Ronny will be remembered for his charitable legal work with the Alzheimer's Society, Gillian's Place women's shelter, and B'nai Israel Synagogue. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7th, at the Beth Israel Cemetery in Kingston. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada and Gillian's Place.
