The family of Maria Beleza announces her peaceful passing on September 2, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family. Maria was predeceased by her husband, Laurenio Beleza, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters Ana (Luciano), Christine (Victor), and Catrina (Mike), and will be fondly remembered as Avó to Philip (Ingrid), Melinda (Robert), Mikaila (Daniel), Eric, and twins Olivia and Noah, as well as Avózinha to Leo, Lola, Dominic, Isaac, Elliot, Charlie, Julian, Rosie, Pia, and Mabel. Maria is also survived by her sister-in-law, Odette Bettencourt, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The family will receive visitors at Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home in Kingston on September 7, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on September 8, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed by the Rite of Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
