George James Purdie

George James Purdie, aged 93, passed away in Kingston, Ontario, on August 31, 2026. Born on January 15, 1933, George was a beloved member of his family and community. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Purdie (Clegg), his wife Elaine Weedmark, and his brother Donald Purdie. George is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Purdie, Jocelyn Purdie (Gord McRae), and Judith Purdie-Elliott (Stefan Elliott). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Jason McCready, Matthew McCready (Catriona), Nicholas McCready (Julia), Margot King (Cal), and Erik Elliott, as well as his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Grace, and Ryan McCready. He is also remembered by his nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Kingston or a charity of your choice.
