ARTHUR DANIEL YORK
Arthur Daniel York passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 92. He had a loving 69-year marriage with his late wife, Eileen York. Together, they raised a family that inherited their knack for humour and warmth: their son, David York, and daughter, Andrea Wheeler (Bryan). Arthur was a proud grandfather to Trinity and Brock Wheeler, who will carry on his legacy of silliness. Arthur was a highly respected employee at ScotiaBank for 42 years, where he served in a variety of positions. He had a love for the outdoors, which was evident in his passion for walking, hiking, and camping. He also enjoyed curling, billiards, and baseball. He mostly enjoyed being part of the team. At home, he was the quintessential handyman, fixing most things on his own. Arthur could whistle a tune to brighten any day. Describing Arthur is simple: he was funny, kind, and handy. His kindness was a currency he spent generously, and his hands were rarely still, always tinkering, fixing, and providing for his family. Cremation has been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. As per Arthur's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Arthur's honour.
