William (Billy) Kirkwood Watson McIlveen
William (Billy) Kirkwood Watson McIlveen passed away on February 12, 2026, at the age of 58. He died in his home, surrounded by his family. Billy lived his life unapologetically, with purpose, integrity, and intention. His life was centered on the people he loved, and he was selfless and loyal, showing up for daily phone calls, sharing cigarettes, and making his own dog treats with his treasured grand-daughter Paisleigh Rai. He loved to sit down with a pint of Haagen-Dazs chocolate peanut butter ice cream, flanked by his beloved dogs Cyan and Maree, and watch the Glasgow Rangers with his family. Billy was also tirelessly committed to his work and co-workers. He was a protector and a fighter for what he believed in. Billy is profoundly missed by all those who loved him and were loved by him. He is survived by his wife, Marcie McIlveen, daughter, Naomi LaForme, and her partner Cameron, and his treasured grand-daughter Paisleigh Rai LaForme. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Sandra (Boon Phop), Dankool, brother-in-law, Andy Landry, and parents, Ralph and Naomi McIlveen. The family would like to thank Juravinski Cancer Centre for their exceptionally compassionate care, with special thanks to Dr. K. and Billy's wonderful 'uncle' Tim O'Shea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to HAMSMaRT.
