Kevin Patrick Kelly

Kevin Patrick Kelly, aged 72, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Kanata, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather, son, and brother, Kevin was deeply committed to his family and community. He served as a union president in Aurora, advocating for workers' rights, and was recognized with Southam's OH&S Canada Corpus Award in 1989 for his contributions to workplace safety. Kevin underwent a heart transplant in 2014 and inspired many with his musical tour across southern Ontario the following year. An accomplished writer, he authored two books, including a unique murder-mystery in haiku. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children Erin (Chris) and Marianne (Kate); step-children Martina (James) and Marla (Neil); granddaughter Sydney; and siblings Michael (Gail), Carolyn (Randy), and Jennifer (Sam). He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Mildred 'Tina' Kelly. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at Aurora's Senior Centre on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
