Lavina TRANTER
Lavina 'Jan' Tranter (nee Carter) passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 88 years. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on May 2, 1937, to Lloyd and Winifred Carter, Jan spent her childhood years in Toronto. She met Kenneth Tranter in grade school and they were married on June 2, 1956, in Scarborough, Ontario. They spent 69 years creating a loving family, travelling the world, and building a successful dog business. Jan was a member of the Cub Scouts of Canada and volunteered at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. She was an accomplished owner/operator of Nobledee Kennels, which she and Ken began on their property in Stouffville, Ontario. Jan loved to travel with Ken, circling the globe twice over the years. She will be most remembered for her strong, independent personality and her love for dogs.
